Fellowship in the Spirit

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 (KJV)

We can worship God in the Spirit. As we sing to God in tongues, our spirit sings to God’s Spirit, making us “in tune” with God. It allows us to be aware of God in worship and in prayer with no distractions, worries, or burdens. Our spirit communicates with God’s Spirit directly. We go beyond natural means and make contact in a heart-to-heart interaction with God.

As we worship in the Spirit, deep calls to deep. God’s Spirit calls us to spend time with God, whether alone or as we are going about our business. Remember- it is heart-to-heart, so it can happen anywhere. Our hearts talk to one another, and fellowship in the Spirit takes place.

In Spirit

Worship in the Spirit is the point in worship where your inner man connects with God. You get in touch with God, and He touches you.

In Truth

True worship is always based on God’s written Word, which is the Truth. By His Word, God gives us truths to live by and to worship God. We worship God based on the truth that He is God.

We serve Him and offer up all we are to Him based on the covenant exchange of God giving Himself to us. He offers all He is, touch by touch and word by word. In this, we worship God in the Spirit, by the Holy Spirit, and from our spirits. It is a Spirit-to-spirit encounter. We enjoy the Lord, and He enjoys us. We bring Him pleasure, and He does the same for us. We are intimately getting closer and closer to God, sharing our love with each other. Fellowship in the Spirit is when you enjoy each other’s presence.

Fellowshipping with God in the Spirit is God loving us and us loving Him. It is a time of enjoyment, just treasuring being with each other. As we fellowship with God in the Spirit, we will experience the deep relationship with Him that our hearts long for.
