He Gave His Body to Make Us the Body of Christ

He Gave His Body to Make Us the Body of Christ

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV)

Jesus died for our sins so we could be dead to sin. Christ’s body took our place to make us the body of Christ. Christ did not have sin and sickness in His life, but He confronted sin and sickness and defeated them.

As we identify with Christ, and not with sin and sickness, we too can confront sin and sickness and defeat it in our bodies and in the body of Christ.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

We can live a life free from sin, not yielding to it. We are dead to it, so we yield to the Savior instead of sin. He is righteous and He has made us righteous when He took our place at the cross. You received it when you said the prayer of salvation, believed on Jesus’ name and confessed Him as your Lord. By the sacrifice of Christ, we’ve been forgiven and cleansed of sin. We’re free from its power over us.

By His stripes we were healed. Just as Jesus made us righteous, He made us healed. We are free from:

  • Sin

  • Sickness

  • satan

God ‘s will is that we live healed, righteous, and free, walking in all the Savior purchased and gave us as a part of the salvation package.
