Sins Forgiven, Healing Available
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV)
Christ died for our sins, so we could be dead to sins and so we don’t respond to sin, sinners, and their evil treatment. We are dead to sins. They have no power over us so make us keep sinning. You can’t provoke a dead person; he has no response. Don’t have any response to sin. Don’t yield to it or it can destroy you.
We’re dead to sins because Christ, who had no sin, bore our sins, so we could be dead to sins and can live unto righteousness. In other words, Christ made us righteous, and we can live as the righteousness of God. We no longer identify with the sin nature or desire to live in sin. Everything that hurt or harmed us was defeated by the death of Jesus. He died to defeat sin and everything that comes with it, including sickness. He came out the Victor and our Healer. He has healing for us, as well as deliverance from sins.
By His stripes, weve been healed spirit, soul, and body. we are made whole. Jesus removed sin, and gave us healing and right standing with God. He died physcially. He experienced physical stripes for our physical healing. Our sins have been forgiven to allow us to receive bodily healing.
