Receive Your Healing
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV)
This says that Jesus bore our sins in His own body on the tree. Jesus, our substitute bore our sins and our sickness as well- so we don’t have to. Sin is no longer an issue with God. Jesus nailed our sins to the cross because He bore our sins and died to pay for them. Now, we are dead to sin. We are no longer slaves to sin. Sin is no longer our master. Jesus is our Master, and He has made us righteous because He is our righteousness. We are dead to sin and alive to righteousness and God. Christ is our righteousness and by Him, for Him, and in Him we now live.
Since Christ has dealt with sin and sickness, the result is that we were healed by His stripes. Jesus dealt with both man’s sins and his physical ailments. Our spiritual condition is remedied and we are now born-again in Christ. Our physical condition is also remedied. Jesus took physical stripes (lashes) on His back for our physical healing. The price has been paid by Jesus for our healing and health. Now, it is up to us to receive that healing by faith- in the same way we received salvation. Just as we accepted Christ by faith, we now receive healing by faith because of Christ’s finished works.
