Finished, Full, and Free
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV)
Jesus bore our sins on the cross. He died on the tree so we who once lived in sin and had been made spiritually dead and separated from God could be dead to sin. Sin no longer has dominion over us. we’ve been made dead to sin and alive to God.
When we made Jesus Lord, satan was no longer our lord. The devil can no longer lord over us because sin gave him authority over us, but Jesus set us free from sin. We became dead to sin and this closed satan’s access to us. Now we belong to Jesus.
We live unto righteousness. Jesus makes us right and makes our lives right. Even when sin prevails in this fallen world, we can live unto righteousness, unto God, because we’ve been made new creations. We’ve been made right. we can live right. What we do does not dictate who we are. Instead, our “who” (the righteousness of God) dictates our “do.” Our identity has changed, and as a result, so do our actions. We don’t live for sin, but for God.
We now identify as the healed of the Lord. We’ve been healed by Christ’s stripes, so now we live a life of wholeness and not brokenness. Sin has broken us and had brought sickness and illness, but Jesus came to heal us. because we are now healed, we can live whole lives- blessed, loved, forgiven, free, righteous, and redeemed lives.
Jesus came to bring healing in every area of our lives, including physical healing. The Scripture says, “By whose stripes ye were healed.” It has all ben paid for. It’s already been accomplished. Accept it. Believe it. Speak it, and you’ll walk in it. Everything Jesus purchased for us has been paid in full. He finished salvation. He gave us full salvation. And this salvation is free. It has been done for us- finished, full, and free.
