The Star

I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. Numbers 24:17 (KJV)

This verse promised that a star would come, speaking of Jesus, who was prophesied to come. We are not to follow stars, as in the zodiac, yet the stars proclaim the One who put the stars in place. Although we don’t see Jesus right now, as we look to Him, He will guide us home just like the North Star guides navigators who follow it for direction. Then we will see Him.

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Romans 5:17 (KJV)

One day, in the Millenium, we will rule with Jesus. However, this verse in Romans says we reign in this life by Christ. Jesus, our Guiding Star, is above all we go through in this life. He overcame for us so we overcome now in this life. As we look to Him, we are positioned above all trouble and trials.

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Matthew 2:2 (KJV)

His star was seem by wise men, as predicted in Numbers 24:17. Jesus came the first time to rule in men’s hearts. When He comes again, He will rule the earth.

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Revelation 22:16 (KJV)

Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star.

And I will give him the morning star. Revelation 2:28 (KJV)

This once again refers to Jesus being given to us as the Morning Star. It points to a better and brighter day- now and in the coming millenium. Jesus is the Morning Star. As we follow Him, our path becomes brighter and brighter, leading us to the perfect One, Jesus.

But the path of the just (righteous) is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day. Proverbs 4:18 (Amplified Bible, AMP)
