Jesus' Blood Is Greater
And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border. And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood: And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil. And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country. And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kirharaseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it. And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not. Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land. II Kings 3:21-27 (KJV)
Israel was defeating the king of Moab and his armies. Then the king of Moab sacrificed his son as a burnt offering- a human sacrifice- and he gained the upper hand against Israel’s army. He offered his son to the false god Chemosh, which actually means he sacrificed him to satan and demons (I Corinthians 10:20). It seems this human blood sacrifice unleashed demonic powers. This was a real-life incident in the Old Testament, not just a story.
As New Testament believers, we know that the blood of Jesus Christ is greater. His sacrifice on the cross and the shedding of His own blood defeated satan and his demons forever.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Colossians 1:13-14 (KJV)
The blood of Jesus removed us from the dominion of the dark kingdom and brought us into His divine, light-filled kingdom. We have redemption, deliverance, safety, and victory by Christ’s blood. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by Word of our testimony. We love not our lives unto the death (Revelation 12:11). We’re willing to lay our lives down for Jesus because He laid His live down for us.
Tragically, human sacrifice is still done today by those who serve satan. But- the Greater One lives in us (I John 4:4). God has called us to overcome evil with good, rescuing those who are in darkness with the light of the Gospel. The blood of Christ overcomes any satanic blood sacrifice. Because Christ’s blood released God’s life to us, life conquers death.
We must reach people who are in need of Christ. We must rescue children from slavery and trafficking. They, and even adults, are being used for satanic rituals, slavery, or to harvest their organs. We can pray and use our spiritual authority in Jesus’ name, speak God’s Word, and proclaim Christ’s blood over these matters to affect change. And we can donate to organizations that are going in and rescuing those who are bound.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:18-19 (KJV)
LET’S PRAY:
God, we speak freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind. We speak the anointing over all enslaved and oppressed people to destroy every yoke, the Gospel preached to the poor, and healing to the brokenhearted. We decree deliverance to the captives and liberty to them that are bruised. We proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, which is Jubilee. Jubilee brings freedom to the slaves, debts cancelled, and restoration of all that was lost. We speak it forth now, In Jesus’ name!
