Declare the Blood of Jesus
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:11 (KJV)
Our enemy is the devil; satan. Devil means slanderer and satan means accuser. To overcome him, we must declare, speak forth, say, and testify what the blood has accomplished. Jesus’ shed blood broke the power, penalty and punishment of sin. It destroyed satan’s lordship and dominion over man, and we must enforce it by speaking faith-filled words about Jesus and about His blood.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Colossians 1:13-14 (KJV)
His blood cleanses, justifies, sanctifies, redeems, forgives, heals, saves, delivers, protects, and matures. It gives us access to all of God’s presence, promises, and provisions. All that Jesus’ blood is and does is ours when we believe it, accept it, and declare it out loud. By doing this, we release our authority against the enemy.
Maybe you’ve heard the phrase: “plead the blood.” Plead means we apply the blood of Jesus to ourselves and all that pertains to our lives. As we plead the blood daily with our words, we appropriate all the benefits of Calvary- everything Jesus died on the cross to give us.
By pleading the blood, we will overcome the devil, the flesh, and the world, and anything else that would seek to come against us or hinder us. Nothing can stop us, hold us back, defeat us, do us in, or take us out. The blood of Jesus makes us more than conquerors. We are victorious. We’re overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. And we aren’t afraid to lay our lives down for the One whose blood paid it all. How precious is the flow that makes me white as snow- no other fount I know- nothing but the blood of Jesus!
