Seeing The Big Picture

Seeing The Big Picture

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:24 (KJV)

We must look at our lives as a race- not a sprint, but a marathon. We must run with patience and faith. Don’t look to the left or to the right. Run with your focus straight ahead.

We must understand when we hit bumps on the road of life, as we are fulfilling our lifetime vision, that it is only temporary. Problems will come and go. As Paul said, “None of these things move me.” Always live with the big picture in mind and aim to finish your course with joy. People who lose their joy drop out of the race. However, as we look to Jesus,we’ll stay focused. We run this race of life with our eyes on Christ because He’s what we’re running for. He is the prize we are pressing towards. For Him and through Him, we finish what God gave us to finish: ministry, vision, family, career, or whatever. We are running to the finish line of God’s plan.

Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. John 4:34 (KJV)

Jesus’ food was to God’s will and finish His work. Christ did God’s will and finished His assigment. On the cross, He said, “It is finished.” We must know God’s will and feed on that, meaning His Word because His Word is His will. As we do, we’ll stay strong.

If we encounter any delay, we must look at it in light of the big picture, stay focused, and continue the race. We are to finish God’s plan for our lives, seeing God work it all out and ultimately seeing God face-to-face.
