Born-Again, Renewed, and Healed
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV)
Sin gave us a sin nature that caused us to live in sin. It caused us to live for sin and for self. We cannot free ourselves from ourselves, from our old sin nature. On our own, we can’t stop sinning and living in sin.
Jesus came and did what we could not do for ourselves. He became man and became sin, to take mankind’s sin. Without ever sinning, He became sin, making His body the scapegoat (Leviticus 16:21) that carried away man’s sins. He did it to make us righteous, changing us from sinners who sin to the righteousness of God who can now live right. Thus, Jesus’ sacrifice brought wholeness to every part of man- spirit, soul, and body.
Spirit: You can be born-again.
Soul: You can renew your mind to God’s Word.
Body: You can be healed and made whole, plus you can live as the body of Christ.
Now that we’ve been healed in our bodies, we can live freely, giving ourselves wholly to Jesus. Because He gave His all for us, we should give our all, our entire lives, to Him.
Now we’ve been healed by His stripes. Let’s live out our freedom, our new identity, and our wholeness.
