Live Peaceably
If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Romans 12;18 (NKJV)
Today is Veterans Day in the United States. It was originally celebrated as Armistice Day, the day that World War I ended. It is a celebration of peace and of those who are willing to protect peace..
Peace should be the goal of everyone on this planet, but sadly it is not. All people should seek to live together in unity. However, there are some people who because their hearts are hard and evil, seek to create wars and division. Through dividing others, they believe they can maintain power and control over people. And war usually generates money for those who provide the equipment and ammunition. War is big business.
Today as we celebrate Veteran’s Day, let’s be mindful of the men and women who fought to preserve peace. We owe an unpayable debt to those who put themselves in harm’s way, some of them not returning home, to protect us and to promote the peace and freedom of all people. In addition, let’s do our part to live at peace with others. While we cannot compromise what is right just to keep the peace, there are situations in which we can choose peace over being proven right. Use wisdom and walk in love with all people. Tell them the truth, but do it in love. And pray that all men and women would live together in peace and harmony.
If it can be done, as much as is possible on your part, live in peace with all men. Romans 12:18 (Junilee Bible 2000, JUB)
