Think on God
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
The Bible says that as we think on God, He keeps us in perfect peace. Wow! Is that even possible in the world today? Of course it is. With God all things are possible.
The mind refers to thoughts and imagination. Peace means wholeness, prosperity, protection, calmness, quietness. Don’t allow anything to distract you from thinking on God. As we trust God, we know that He can do what we need. Thinking on God helps us to trust Him to give us perfect peace and needs met.
Think of Who God is. He is love. He is the Father. He is the Healer and Provider. He is just, faithful, good, and caring. We could go on and on, so there’s plenty to think on when thinking about who God is.
Don’t think on bad things. Think on the Lord. This will prevent you from becoming consumed with the negative. Instead of focusing on worries and problems, you’ll be filled with God and all He is: love, joy, peace, etc. You’ll have His power. presence and promises in the forefront of your mind.
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Acts 17:28 (KJV)
As we think on God, we are conscious of Him. We are practicing God’s presence, remaining in constant communion with Him. As a result, our lives become full of prayer, praise, power, and purpose. We live and move and have our existence in God. Because God exists, we exist in Him. The more we think on God by thinking on His written Word, the more we can know Him, grow in Him, be filled by Him, and be led by Him. God lives in us and through us, helping us to do and be all He made us for.
Think on who God is, what He does, and what He will do for you. Just read His Word and you’ll know these things, even by His Spirit. We can have a spiritual mind, a sound mind, a renewed mind- the mind of Christ- through God’s Word as we read, study, pray, sing, and speak it.
Remember that God is closer than your thoughts. As you think on God, He will reveal Who He is. As you wait and listen, you will receive from God. Think on God to receive His peace. Think about Him because He certainly is thinking about you.
