Good Things to Come
The Bible has many promises, prophecies, and proclamations about good things to come.
Mark 4 talks about a hundredfold harvest.
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. Mark 4:20 (KJV)
Deuteronomy 1:11 refers to 1,000 times more.
(The Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!) Deuteronomy 1:11 (KJV)
Ezekiel tells us God has caused us to multiply.
I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare. Ezekiel 16:7 (KJV)
Hebrews says we have been made a million.
God gave Job twice as much as he lost. The Bible tells us Jesus will increase us more and more. we are promised a double-fold recompense, double for our troubles, a double portion, double blessing, and double restoration. God loves to increase us. He has more in store- more than we lost before.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version, NIV)
The King James Version of this verse says that God plans to give us an expected end. The Hebrew actually says, an end and expectation. That is a powerful verse.
For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. Proverbs 23:18 (KJV)
An end can be interpreted reward. Your expectation of reward shall not be cut off.
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof; Ecclesiastes 7:8 (KJV)
God is telling us to hold on by holding onto hope. Hope is a confident expectation of a good outcome with God’s Word. God is a Rewarder of those who seek Him, wait for Him, and trust Him. Don’t cast away your confidence in the Lord. You do this by holding onto your confession of faith. God will reward us.
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. Hebrews 10:35-36 (KJV)
Might actually means will or shall. This tells us that when we hold fast to His promises, we will receive them.
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things. Joel 2:21 (KJV)
No matter the problem, the Lord says He will do great things for us. This says that there are good things to come.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.. Romans 8:26-28 (KJV)
As we pray, the Holy Spirit intercedes with and through us to bring God’s good will to pass and working all things for good. God brings good out of bad. He brings praise out of pain, testimony out of a test, and takes us from victims to victorious. God is saying, “Don’t give up. God will come through for you.”
