Clothed In The Prophetic
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; I Timothy 1:18-19a (KJV)
How do we receive a prophetic word?
Holy Spirit makes alive in the Scripture what He has for you.
Prophecy is spoken over you by someone else, especially a spiritual leader.
Prophecy comes by Holy Spirit’s voice. You hear in your spirit what He says to you as an individual.
Prophecy is a word from God based on His written Word. It will equip and clothe you to war a good warfare and fight the good fight. It helps you to keep your faith so you don’t get shipwrecked by storms of life.Lift up the shield of faith. Keep your conscience clear, remaining right before God so you overcome guilt, condemnation, and every attack of the enemy.
In whatever we face or fight, we can use the prophetic to encourage ourselves in the Lord. Let it be a reminder of what God has said and done before. He is good and faithful, full of love and compassion and able to fulfill that prophetic word. This gives us strength, hope, and endurance to outlast anything we face. Hope is significant because it is the positive confidence in a good outcome or a favorable, confident expectation.
Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. James 5:11 (KJV)
And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before…. So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. Job 42:10, 12 (KJV)
Let a prophetic word be a prophetic picture of the good things the Lord has for you. Prophecy enables us to endure until we receive the reward at the end of the trial. It clothes us for battle so we can fight the good fight. As we hold onto prophecy, we hold on until we see the manifestation of God’s promises to us.
