We're Free From Sin and Healed
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV)
This speaks of physical healing, but it covers so much more. Jesus died to sin- to defeat sin and make us dead to sin and alive unto God.
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: Galatians 1:4 (KJV)
When we are born again, we yield to God instead of sin, being dead to sin. However, sin is still alive. We still see the effects of sin in the world, but we have been delivered from this present evil world and from the authority of darkness.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Colossians 1:13 (KJV)
As we walk in the light of who Jesus is and what He has done for us, we are dead to sin and alive unto God. We can live unto righteousness and be victorious over sin because we give sin no place to dominate us. Instead, God and righteousness have dominion over us, and we have access to all Christ provided for us at the cross. This includes healing because we were healed by the stripes of Christ. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross purchased our healing, and our freedom from sin and from all the negative outcomes it brings.
