Looking Unto Jesus For All We Need
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV)
As we study, meditate, and confess this verse and others about Christ’s redemption for us, we are reminded of who Christ is and what He’s done for us. He is our Savior who has saved us from sin, ourselves, satan, and the world system.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
As we look to Jesus Christ on the cross, we are healed from every attack, every “snake bite” from the evil one. We focus on the Healer and not the sickness, on the Savior and not the sin. Christ took it all to pay it all. There’s nothing left to be paid. Feelings of guilt, shame and condemnation won’t pay for sins by that have already been paid for by the blood of Jesus. Christ defeated them all, so they no longer defeat you. Lift up your head and behold the Christ, the One who paid it all. With His body on the tree, He died to free us from sin, sickness, and all aspects of the curse. Look to Jesus, your righteousness, and sin won’t have any dominion over you. Reject the enemy’s lies that held you in bondage and walk free.
We believe the truth that sets us free- God’s Word that heals and delivers us. We trust in Christ’s blood that washes all sins away. His stripes, wounds, and bruises paid for the healing of our spirits, souls, and bodies. Christ our peace, our wholeness, makes us complete. Wholeness means all our needs are met in Him. There is no lack when we look to Jesus and receive all we need. We only need to receive it because it’s all been paid for.
So, look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. By His faith, we live and receive all Christ is and all He has given. With one look at the cross and at the Christ of the cross, we see the One by whose stripes we are healed.
