Outpouring: When God Shows Up- Part 2
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God. Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 35:1-10 (KJV)
This is a reference to Jesus Christ and His first coming when He did miracles among the people. He opened blind eyes. He caused the deaf to hear. The lame leapt and the dumb were able to speak and sing. He brought spiritual water to the thirsty and defeated satan, the dragon.
Jesus, the Way (John 14:6), made a highway, or road, to travel to follow Him. Only the redeemed walk this road that Jesus paved for us. We walk in His steps to be like Him and do the works, and even greater works, of Christ (John 14:12). Jesus gives us songs of redemption to sing because our Redeemer has shed His blood to purchase us and set us free (Ephesians 1:7).
Although this chapter speaks of the first coming of Jesus Christ, it also points to the great end time outpouring of His Spirit on all flesh (Joel 2:28-29). He is turning our desert into blossoms of roses, full of beauty and abundance. Fruitfulness shall abound. The blessing of God is becoming evident in the land. Songs of praise and victory to God are rising. God is giving us songs to sing, even His Word. The glory of the Lord is starting to be poured out, and He helps us to strengthen one another as we enter this amazing time. The promise of Him coming to save us removes fear, for surely God is coming to save us, and all will be well.
Say to those with an anxious and panic-stricken heart, “Be strong, fear not! Indeed, your God will come with vengeance [for the ungodly]; The retribution of God will come, But He will save you.” Isaiah 35:4 (Amplified Bible, AMP)
Fear not. God is on the move. His strong arm is moving to remove the wicked and establish righteousness and justice once again. He will recompense us and pay us back for everything we’ve gone through. His vengeance will be poured out on the enemy that has caused so much terror, death, and trouble in the world. When God shows up, the glory will be evident everywhere and the end time harvest that has already started will ramp up to amazing heights with salvations and miracles everywhere. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
