Is It Well?
Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him: Ecclesiastes 8:12 (KJV) emphasis mine
This is a prophetic promise given to us before we face any problems. This promise is for those who fear, revere and respect, God. We love and serve God out of respect for who He is. He is holy. He is love. He is worthy.
And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well. Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee. So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite: Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well: II Kings 4:23-26 (KJV)
The Shunammite woman’s son died. In the midst of this tragic situation, the woman prophesied the desired outcome by saying, “It shall be well.” Well in this passage is a Hebrew word meaning peace, wellness, wellbeing, prosperity, wholeness with nothing missing and nothing broken. Then the Prophet Elisha asked her if it was well, and she told him, “It is well.” She held fast to her prophetic confession of faith.
The story goes on to tell us that the prophet raised her son back to life. When we hold fast to our prophetic faith confession:
Hopelessness turns into hope,
Messes turn into miracles,
Dead things come back to life.
To say, “It is well,” is enough to release the Prince of Peace, Jesus, to make things well again. In the midst of a problem, proclaim the prophetic decree “It is well,” to give God something to work with. As you do, your confession of faith will be manifested, and it will be well.
We can go from “Is it well?” to “It is well.” When others ask you, “Is it well?” you can tell them, “Yes, it is well.” When you do this in faith, God will make it well.
