Faithing Things Head On
When difficult things come our way, it can be tempting to ignore them. Sometimes we think if we ignore something, it will go away. Occasionally this is true, but much of the time, it just gets worse. We can’t avoid everything that is difficult. That is what faith is for.
When we are confronted by something bigger than we are, we must implement our faith to overcome it. Faith in God is what gives us the upper hand in tough situations. We can’t be defeated if we stay in faith.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:1, 6 (KJV)
Faith makes the impossible possible. It takes that which seems insurmountable, and reduces it to nothing. It contains mountain-moving power. Just a tiny mustard-seed-sized portion can eliminate whatever blocks our path. It is the means by which we accomplish things in the spirit realm, and then in the natural. It is also the thing that pleases God. When we have faith in Him, He is very pleased.
When you receive a bad report, maybe in your health or finances or about a loved one, don’t automatically lose heart. That is when you must be determined to stand against the negative report and trust God and His Word. Don’t speak about the situation. Instead, speak what the Word says about the situation- and keep speaking it. Don’t ignore your circumstances, but don’t magnify them and make them bigger in your eyes by speaking negatively. It is important to be consistent. We can’t speak faith one minute and doubt the next. It doesn’t work that way.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (KJV)
We get faith from the Word. We grow it the same way. The Word is the source of faith because it is the will of God. His will must become our will. By believing and speaking the Word, we get what it says we can have. Our faith grows by continued exposure to the Word of God. And if we are diligent to always be in the Word, our faith will already be built up when trials come our way. However, if you have not been in the Word, you can still begin now, even if you are facing troubles right now.
Faith is when we speak the words of the Father into our situation and then we rest, going about our business and not focused on the problem. Faith and belief in God’s Word is a place of rest. We don’t have to struggle when we are in faith. We stand on the Word, and we rest about the outcome.
So, no matter what you are facing, approach it directly with faith. Yes, you can “faith” it head on.
