Jesus, You Are My Lord
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV)
This passage says that Jesus is Lord, and all will know and confess Him as such.
As we worship Jesus, we declare His lordship over us. Jesus is Lord, which means master and ruler. He is the Prince of Peace who rules our hearts and lives. He is wisdom, more valuable than gold, silver, or any jewels. He is more beautiful than anything we can gain in this life. Jesus is the love of our lives, the One who captures our hearts, so we pour out our love upon Him.
He is brighter than the sun and He is higher than the skies. His love for us is deeper than the oceans. His forgiveness extends beyond East and West. He surrounds us like mountains. He is immovable and His love is relentless. He pursues us until He makes us His own.
When Jesus shed His blood and died on the cross, He gave us His all- so He could have our all. Now Jesus’ love unites us to His heart. We can fall in love with Him, and we fall before Him because of who He is. We proclaim that Jesus is our Lord. Nothing can steal our hearts from Him. We are eternally attached and bonded by His love for us. We are compelled to worship and love Jesus for all He has done, is doing, and will do for us.
Jesus is Lord. Worthy is the One who won us back, won us over, and won our victory. By Him, we are already winners. We declare that Jesus is Lord as we wait until He comes for us.
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Revelation 22:20 (KJV)
