Rededicate Yourself First
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. I Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV) emphasis mine
Tomorrow, May 17, 2026, the United States is rededicating herself back to God as a nation. This is a very momentous and biblical thing to do. As we approach the celebration of 250 years as a nation, it is appropriate that we first turn to the Lord, our Maker, who established us and to Whom our founders dedicated this nation.
In rededicating ourselves as a nation, it is first needful that we rededicate ourselves as individuals back to the Lord. We must turn our hearts and focus towards Him and commit ourselves anew to following and living for Him above all other things. What does this look like?
Repent. We must repent of all sin. God is faithful and just to forgive us if we confess our sins to Him and repent, or turn away from it.
Recommit. We must recommit our lives to Jesus Christ. Let’s renew our personal covenants with God by promising to follow and honor Him. And we must follow through on this by truly living for Him every day, spending time with Him in prayer and in study of His Word- and by acting on what He instructs.
Restoration. As we rededicate ourselves to the Lord, God will restore to us that which has been stolen. This can be anything: stolen wealth, stolen health, stolen peace, stolen relationships- you name it. The glory will bring everything we need- in abundance.
As we rededicate ourselves individually, it prepares us spiritually, mentally, and emotionally to rededicate our land back to God. Today, take the time to turn your heart to the Lord. Repent and give yourself to Him all over again. Renew your commitment. And tomorrow, we will join together to reestablish our beloved United States as one nation under God.
