I Am The Resurrection

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25 (KJV)

Jesus said this just before He raised Lazarus from death to life. Jesus predicted and prophesied His own death and resurrection during His earthly ministry.

When Jesus was on the cross, all went dark for three hours (Matthew 27:45, Mark 15:33, Luke 23:44). This was a picture of Jesus the Light being extinguished for three days. That which Jesus prophesied about His own death and resurrection was spoken into His own future, declaring the outcome from the beginning. Life conquered death. Light conquered darkness. Love conquered the devil.

The number three represents the triune Godhead, but it also represents resurrection. Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, spoke forth His resurrection. He had to resurrect because He is the Resurrection. This proved that you can’t contain Jesus or hold Him down. The Life, Jesus, came back up. He was resurrected. His destiny was to come back to life.

No matter what has died in our lives, death is not the end because Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life.. It could be dead dreams, dead hopes, dead relationships, dead finances, or whatever. Jesus will raise dead things back to life. The Life brings life and the Resurrection brings resurrection. Because Jesus lives, all who are in Christ will live in Him and with Him.

Rejoice! Jesus is alive forevermore! In Him, we live, and move, and have our existence. He lived and died and was raised. Now we are alive and raised and seated with Him in heavenly places. We now reign in this life by Christ Jesus, Who is the Resurrection!

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Romans 5:17 (KJV)
