What To Do With Faithless People

What To Do With Faithless People

He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. Mark 9:19 (KJV)

This verse is part of Mark 9 :14-29, which recounts the time when Jesus cast a deaf and dumb spirit out of a man’s son because His disciples could not. Do you get tired of being around the wrong people; faithless people? Jesus essentially said to His followers, ”How long shall I put up with you?” Even Jesus got tired of being surrounded by faithlessness. But, Jesus didn’t let that stop Him from doing what God wanted Him to do.

Jesus took authority over the devil, casting him out and telling him not to return. We have to use our faith and authority. We can cast him out and tell him not to come back. Once the devil is driven out of your life, don’t open the door to let him back in. Send him packing and move on with God to the next assignment God has for you, just like Jesus did.

“‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. Revelation 2:2 (English Standard Version, ESV)

Don’t put up with those who have no faith and have no interest in having faith. Don’t hang out with people who do not believe in Christ. Do not become friends with people who have no desire to know Christ. Don’t spend your time with people who do not have a desire to go deeper in the things of God. Be equally yoked (II Corinthians 6:14).

Also, don’t put up with people who are not who they claim to be. Expose the pretenders and put them out of your life unless they sincerely repent. Keep in mind, sometimes we are called to expose, and at other times we are called to let love cover. We expose sin, but love covers weakness and helps people to overcome their weaknesses.

Jesus did not mess with people who were fake. He did not mess with those who did not truly want to have faith. He knew what was in the hearts of men and He treated them according to the condition of their heart. Faithless people are a waste of time. When the devil puts such people in your path, don’t allow them to distract you from what God has called you to.
