The Lord Smiles On You
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them, The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:22-26 (KJV)
This is the priestly blessing. God works in our lives to bless us with His presence, peace, prosperity, and protection. As children of God, God smiles on us, giving us His approval, even when we get frowns from others.
God smiling on us speaks of God being good and having good intentions for us. God is happy with us. He approves of us and accepts us. He likes what He sees. Although, at times, He may need to correct us to get us back on track, He loves us and is pleased with us.
God’s face, His countenance, represents His presence. His presence is with us always. He is with us because He wants to be with us.
God blesses and empowers us to prosper and succeed. He extends grace to us. He gives us good things, not based on what we do or don’t do, but based on His goodness. He gives peace, which is wholeness in every area of our beings and lives. He gives us all good things for a good life.
Because the Lord smiles, making His face to shine upon us, we have bright, sunshine-filled days. Days lived with God are good days, happy days. Darkness is overcome and removed. We see God’s shining presence and behold His face, experiencing His working in our lives. Because God smiles on us, He has released His love, goodness, presence, fulfilled promises, blessings, and peace to us. Life is beautiful because of God’s smile.
