Be Available

God will use anyone. He wants to use us all to accomplish His plan on the earth. We just need to step up to the plate.

As our enemies are removed from a multitude of positions- both high and low- God will need believers to step in and take their places. Do not think you are unqualified. God prefers to use unqualified people so He gets the glory for the outcome. We just have to be available- and God does the rest.

God equips the unequipped. He develops those with no experience. He gives wisdom and guidance to those who simply ask. Don’t be afraid to step into what He has for you. Whether you know it or not, He’s been preparing you for this very time. His purposes for you will be come clear when you decide to give yourself to Him without reservation to do with as He wills.

And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam’s anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff. Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” And Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!” So the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever disposed to do this to you?” And he said, “No.” Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell flat on his face. Numbers 22:27-31 (NKJV)

God used a donkey to speak to a man. If God can use a donkey as a mouthpiece, surely He can use you and me! The donkey had never taken public speaking classes. The donkey never learned speechwriting. The donkey did not demonstrate a natural talent for communication. Yet, God used her. He used her because she was there. That’s all God needs- for us to be there. We just have to be available.

We don’t have to understand how God will bring our assignment to pass or how it will all end up. We just need to show up for Him. Availability and willingness, coupled with obedience, are the qualities God seeks.

If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV)

Be willing to do what God puts before you. When He opens doors, be obedient to step through them. Don’t overthink it. Follow the witness of the Spirit. Seek God and then allow Him to place you where He wants you. Don’t shrink back, because if He places you somewhere, He’ll equip you to do the work. He has a place for you and something for you to accomplish, but you must be available.
