Jesus Took It All Away- Part 2

Jesus Took It All Away- Part 2

Yesterday, we began our discussion about how Jesus took everything that was held against us out of the way.

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:8-15 (KJV)

Jesus removed the tradition that kept us away from God; the things that made the Word of God of none effect. In Jesus, God rescued us. Now we’re complete in Christ. We have wholeness, with nothing missing or broken. Christ is our All in All. He is all we need and meets all our needs.

God cut out the old heart of man and gave us a new heart in Christ and for Christ. This was a circumcision of the heart, as opposed to the circumcision of the flesh that was in the Old Testament.

We identify with Christ; with what He did for us and the position with God that we have in Him. Christ forgave all that was held against us. There is no more record of wrong held against us. Jesus took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross so no one can remove what He did for us. Jesus even stripped and spoiled satan and his demons. He removed their authority and made a public parade and spectacle of their defeat.

Every single thing that was held against us has been removed by Jesus. Instead, he gave us every good thing from God. He’s given us a new nature, His Word, His blood, His Name, His Spirit, His power, and complete redemption. It has all been paid for.

Jesus took our worst and gave us His best. You’re free, so walk in all that Jesus has done for you.
