Christ's Physical Death Bought Our Physical Health

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV)

This says that Jesus, who HIS OWN SELF bare our sins IN HIS OWN BODY on the tree, that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes YE WERE HEALED.

In the early church, there were Gnostics, who were false teachers that denied that Christ had a physical body and therefore did not die physically. They denied the deity of Christ, meaning they did not believe Jesus is God.

However, according to Scripture, Christ was God in the flesh and died in the flesh. Gnostics did not put much value on the human body, but God did. That’s why Christ died in His human body. He did it to show that God counts man’s worth in His whole spirit, soul, and body. God sees value in every part of us.

God didn’t trust anyone but Jesus to save us. In His own self, He bore our sins- in His own body on the tree. The fact is that Christ came in the flesh, His flesh was resurrected, and now His human glorified body sits in heaven on our behalf representing us before God. We were physically sick, and Christ purchased physical healing for us. By His stripes, we were and are healed.
