The Stone Was Rolled Away
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. Luke 24:2 (KJV)
What once held Christ in the grave, God rolled away. This is a picture of what God does. God rolled the greatest stone away, turning death into life and showing that even the grave could not hold Christ. God is saying, “I rolled the greatest obstacle away for Christ and mankind.”
Christ has victory over all things. God still rolls stones away. No matter how long you’ve been in a situation, once God rolls your stone away, you’re coming out! Whether you’ve been in a place of sickness, lack, or relational problems- no matter where you’ve been- God will roll your stone away. God will bring you up and out of your tomb and into a glorious place. Christ’s victory guarantees our victory. Christ couldn’t be defeated, and now He lives in us!
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 15:55-57 (KJV)
When Jesus rose, He took away the sting of death and the victory. This is because the sting of death is sin. Jesus defeated sin at the cross and fulfilled the Law so sin cannot dominate us. The Law can’t condemn us because Christ fulfilled the Law for us. All that’s left is victory. God gives us the victory through Jesus.
Jesus paid all debts. He fulfilled the Law for us. He rose again and the stone was rolled away. No stone or grave could hold Jesus, and nothing can hold you back because Christ is your victory!
