Resisting and Receiving
As believers, we are to resist certain things and receive certain things.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (KJV) emphasis mine
We are to resist the devil, all he stands for, and all he tries to bring into our lives. He is a liar, slanderer, accuser, thief, murderer, and everything evil. If it is of the devil, we are to resist it. Resist means to actively stand against something or someone; to reject.
We are to resist the devil’s lies because they fight against God’s truth. God’s truth is His Word; what He has said to us. We resist satan’s lies by speaking God’s written Word. When the devil slanders you, declare who the Word says you are in Christ- a new creation, wise, righteous, anointed, blessed, victorious, and so on. When He accuses you, declare God’s Word and speak the blood of Jesus in Jesus’ name. You might have messed up over and over, but you are none of the devil’s business- you are God’s business. Say who He says you are. You are forgiven and free, and you belong in God’s family. For every failure, God has a new beginning.
The devil is a thief, and he will try to steal all that is yours spiritually, physically, mentally, relationally, and emotionally. If he has stolen from you, he’s a thief that has been caught. According to the Bible, he must restore seven-fold. Call him onm it. Order him to restore it to you seven-fold.
The enemy is also a murderer and he’s taken many lives. Many souls have ended up in hell for falling for his deception. He has no mercy and there is no love in him. He enjoys sending people to an eternity in hell without God. Jesus came to give us life, even eternal life. We can speak life to a situation and expect it to turn around.
We are to resist everything that is evil, sinful, and under the curse, including the world system, If it isn’t of God, resist it.
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1;21 (KJV) emphasis mine
We are to receive all God is and all He has for us. We are to receive Jesus, then receive the Holy Spirit. We receive the Word and all that Christ died to provide for us. God has already given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. It is finished.
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. II Peter 1:2-4 (KJV)
Begin to know who Christ is. Learn who you are in Him and who He is in you. As we receive more of teh Word, we receive all that’s already ours. it’s like a million dollars has been put on your account and you just have to make a withdrawal. Receive God’s blessings, favor, love, peace, power, protection, presence, and promises. As we believe, speak, and act like God and His promises are true, we receive what is already available to us. Provision is already provided. As we believe and receive the Word, we access that provision (Philippians 4:19).
Receive Jesus, healing, God’s Word, Holy Spirit, answered prayer, miracles, and every need met. Receive revelation and all that’s under the blessing. We resiste the curse (Deuteronomy 28:15-68) and receive the blessing (Deuteronomy 28:1-14)..
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV)
Receive God’s life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). Resist all that’s not of God and receive what is of God. As we learn more and more of God’s Word, we will know what to resist and what to receive.
