It's Real
Psalm 126 is about the hard things we face that God turns around for us. When He does, it may seem like a dream, but we wake up to the reality that God really brought it to pass.
When the Lord brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! Psalm 126:1 (New Living Translation, NLT)
You may be in a sort of exile, far from where you want to be. However, when God brings you back it feels too good to be true- but it is true. God turns dreams into reality.
We were filled with laughter, and we sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.” Psalm 126:2 (New Living Translation, NLT)
When God brings your breakthrough, you’ll be filled with laughter and you will sing because you are overjoyed. You will rejoice at what the Lord has done. You will see how real God is even though it may seem like a dream. But it is true because God is truth. God is better than anything we face. The goodness of God makes amazing things become real. And others will take notice and glorify God.
Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy! Psalm 126:3 (New Living Translation, NLT)
You will declare, “Yes, the Lord, Yahweh, the Great I Am who is always present with us has turned things around.” You will be amazed because God is amazing.
Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert. Psalm 126:4 (New Living Translation, NLT)
God restores lost fortunes like a stream brings a desert back to life. You and your fortunes will be renewed and made new. It will be better than ever.
Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. Psalm 126:5 (New Living Translation, NLT)
The tears you’ve sown will be the harvest you reap. You will shout for joy at your harvest and at the good that the Lord has brought about for you.
They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest. Psalm 126:6 (New Living Translation, NLT)
Even though you may weep, keep planting seed, because when the harvest comes in, your tears will turn to songs of joy.
The things we go through are real, but God is more real than whatever we face. God will turn things around, and it will be like a dream come true. The shadows of trouble disappear in the light of God.
