Making Peace With Yourself

Making Peace With Yourself

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 (KJV)

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)

We all face many difficult things. You might be in the midst of trouble, but don’t let the trouble get into you.

When we get right with God, Romans 5:1 tells us that we have peace with God. Jesus came to give us peace and to be our peace. When we make peace with God, it also helps us make peace with ourselves. Stop fighting everything, everyone, and yourself. Make peace with your past by confessing it and putting it under the blood. Then, your past won’t keep you under its power, and it cannot control you.

Make peace with life in general. Accept your life and make the most of it. Don’t try to control or change everyone and everything. Make the most of who you are where you are. Make peace with yourself by accepting who you are. You are a new creation in Christ, a child of God. When others don’t like you, know that God loves you. When others reject you, God accepts you. When other overlook you and don’t see who you are and the value you have, God sees you and knows you. In Christ you are righteous, loved, forgiven, called, treasured, anointed, healed, blessed, qualified, gifted, and worthy. It has all been done for you and freely given to you by Jesus. Receive all Jesus is and all He has for you.

Accept who you are in Christ, even when you don’t do everything right. When things don’t always go right, know it’s okay because God works all things out for your good because you pray, love God, and are called according to His purpose and plan. He takes every wrong and makes it right. So, make peace with yourself. Love yourself. Accept yourself. Be good to yourself, and take care of yourself.

Be the best you that you can be. Don’t compete or compare yourself with others. Be happy with who you are and what you have. Know that God loves you as you are. In His eyes, you are righteous, holy, and forgiven. Be who God made you to be. Do what you can do, and leave the rest in God’s capable hands. What He begins, He finishes- and that includes you.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
