Commit Your Way to God

Commit Your Way to God

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:5 (NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

Trust God with everything. Turn your entire life over to Him. That is the way to receive the guidance and wisdom of the Lord. Only when we choose to take our hands off things can we expect God to help us.

We humans tend to meddle too much. We try to make things happen in our own strength and in our own timing. This is not wise, and it removes God from the equation. He is all-knowing and all-seeing. We are not. How many times have you tried to do something without consulting God or without waiting on Him to help? What was the result? Probably not good.

I believe God often says to us, “Chill out and relax. Give this situation to me. Rest yourself while I take care of this for you.” This is what faith is all about: when we give something to God and then go about our business and refuse to dwell on it any longer. Faith doesn’t have to know the details. Faith just trusts God. Commit your way to Him. Trust Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

The more we mess in things, the messier it can become. Let it go and move on. You don’t have to know how things are going to play out. You just have to know God is bringing the best possible outcome. You have to trust Him when you don’t know how events will unfold. And to be honest, if we knew how everything was going to happen, we might lose heart and grow fearful. Right now we might not be spiritually, mentally, emotionally, or even physically prepared for the method God will choose to fix things. However, He will grow us and make us ready so when the time comes, we are able to handle what happens. We can always trust that He is working out everything that concerns us.

Today, if you are facing a problem, or even many problems, let God take control. Back away from the process and let Him work. Don’t demand or expect to know how He is doing it. Just rest and relax. Occupy your mind with other things. Think on Scripture. Meditate on past victories. Think on how good things are going to be for you in the future when God has everything worked out for you.

Commit your way to God. Trust and rely on Him. Keep your mind on Him and not on the problem. You’ll be amazed at how He works things out when you let Him.
