The Right Word At The Right Time- Part 2
Today I want to review and simplify what we discussed in yesterday’s blog.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4 (KJV)
Biblical context shows that Jesus was the one speaking in this verse. He is the Living Word, as the first chapter of John bears out.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made…. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:1-3, 10-14 (KJV)
He was speaking the rhema Word of God, as noted in Ephsians 6:17 as the Sword of the Spirit.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Ephesians 6:17 (KJV)
As we spend time in God’s written Word, we can learn it, seal it in our hearts, and use it,-speaking it and walking in it. The more we learn God’s written Word, the more we are empowered to speak it and live it.
Speaking His Word gives us power over sin, satan, self, and the world system. We will know how to live victoriously in this world as Jesus did. As we spend time in the Word, we will know the truth and can stand against the attacks of the devil. We’ll send him on his way.
We can live out God’s Word. We study it to know it and speak it. We speak it to do it. Thus, we will walk in the Word, experiencing victory in every area of life.
