This Day is God's Day

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)

Each and every day belongs to the Lord. He created today and we are to celebrate Him in it. To dedicate a day to someone or something other than God and the things He endorses, is wrong- plain and simple. God is the Creator and Source of all living things. He is to be glorified in all we do and celebrate.

Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. I Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV)

Because the devil cannot create anything, all he can do is take something God has made and try to twist and pervert it for his purposes. Every minute of every day belongs to God and we are to use all of our time to glorify and praise Him. When we use something God gave us to magnify the one who opposes Him and hates everything about Him, it is the same as idol worship. It is the same as worshipping false gods, because that is exactly what the devil and his demons are- false gods.

Every day is a blessing from the Lord. Use it to the best advantage. Use it to glorify His name and make Him famous in the earth. Jesus gave His life for you. The devil did not. It’s very easy to see who we should spend our time promoting- and it isn’t satan.

Celebrate God today. Praise Jesus Christ for His selfless sacrifice and for the eternal life He bought and paid for. Give thanks to His name and make His praise glorious. Magnify the Name above all names and give Him all of your love and adoration. Tell Him of your affection for Him and show Him how much He means to you by spending your time with Him. Don’t allow the devil to distract you from the One who created this day and bought you back from the clutches of the enemy. This day is God’s day. Use it to honor and glorify Him.
