The Giving God

The Giving God

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17 (New International Version, NIV)

Because God is good, He only gives good things and does only good for His children, whom He loves.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (KJV)

This tells us that God loves so He gives. He gives because God is love and love gives. Since giving is an expression of His love, God gave us His best, Jesus. And Romans 8:32 says that because he gave us Jesus, He will freely give us all things. Christ is our all in all and we have all we need in Him. So, in Christ, God has given us all things to freely enjoy. We can ask and receive in the name of Jesus when we pray to the Father, so prayer allows us to access all God has already given us. Grace gives. Faith receives, Then, praise thanks.

May Yahweh give you every desire of your heart. Psalm 20:4 (The Passion Translation, TPT)

I know Yahweh gives me all that I ask for. Psalm 20:6 (The Passion Translation, TPT)

For you have given him his heart’s desire, anything and everything he asks for. You haven’t withheld a thing from the king. Psalm 21:2 (The Passion Translation, TPT)

These verses and many throughout the Bible underscore the fact that God is a giving God. God is a giver and He wants to give to us. I know some people who are amazing givers, but God is even more amazing in His giving. They are big givers because God is the biggest Giver. He is the Giver that keeps giving. That’s just who He is.

God gives us all good things in abundance, richly, extravagantly. God will give us so much it will astound and amaze us. It opens our hearts and eyes to how big God really is. We can now enjoy and receive the good things from our heavenly Father in our earthly life. He is preparing us for heaven and all the riches there. He is giving us a taste of that lifestyle now.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

The riches are in the glory. Tap into the glory of God and you tap into the riches of God What a great and gracious Giver He really is!
