The Battle For Your Mouth

The Battle For Your Mouth

Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day. Psalm 71:8 (KJV)

The Psalmist speaks of praising God and declaring who He is, in other words, declaring God’s praises and preaching His Word. There is a battle for our mouths and words. Whomever we yield to will use our mouths and words.

I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. Psalm 81:10 (KJV)

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, Psalm 103:5 (KJV)

The word things in this verse in the Hebrew is actually better translated words. He satisfies our mouths with good words.

O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. Psalm 51:15 (KJV)

My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long. Psalm 71:24 (KJV)

The Bible places a lot of emphasis on our mouths and what we say. We need to use our mouths and words to praise and bless God, instead of complaining and cursing God. The Lord wants to satisfy our mouths with good words so we praise Him all day long every day.

As we yield our mouths to God, He will fill us with His Word and Spirit to speak His Word, to declare the Word of the Lord. In doing this, we show who Jesus is, and we tear down the works of darkness. We exalt Jesus for all to see and be saved. The more we talk of God and His goodness, the more He can fill our lives with His goodness. And that goodness can be evident to others.

Use your mouth to proclaim God and His Word; to praise His Name. Bless and do not curse. Proclaim freedom, not bondage; health, not sickness; abundance, not lack. The more we yield our tongues for God to use, the more He is glorified and the more we will see Him move and manifest His Spirit, power, presence, and Word in our lives. The higher our words of praise go, the higher God will take us into Him. And as He does, people will see God in us and in our lives and will join in with words of praise to God. Then, we are all praising God and great power is released through our unified praise.

So, yield your mouth and words for God to use and not the devil. Praise God and proclaim His Word to enforce the victory you have in Christ. Enforce your victory over every enemy, hindrance, and obstacle- and watch God make wrong things right!
