Armed and Ready

No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord. Isaiah 54:17 (New International Version, NIV)

I sincerely hope you’ve been feeding your spirit man with verses like this one. The way to stay victorious in the heat of battle is to be able to draw out the Word of God that is in you and use it as the Sword of the Spirit to defeat the enemy.

As this verse says, no weapon that is fashioned to come against us will be effective. It tells us that we can wage warfare against the accusations of the enemy. How? By the Word of God believed in our hearts and spoken out of our mouths. Many people try to confess the Word to live victoriously, but they miss an important ingredient: it must be believed by them for it to work when they speak it.

So many believers want to win the battle but they haven’t spent time training for battle. We train by daily spending time in the Word to put it in our hearts. We must listen to the Word being preached. The Word is what brings faith. In order for us to be able to decree something and have it manifest, we must mix faith with it.

I believe this is why some Christians have died prematurely. They have not spent time to put the Word in their hearts. Therefore, when trouble comes, then they run to the Word and try to find a promise to stand on. But, they haven’t been proactive to build up their faith in the verses they choose. It takes time and consistency to become fully persuaded and full of faith. As a result, battles are lost because they have not taken time to prepare for it in advance.

I think we can all sense that something big is going to happen soon in the world- we have to be prepared to stand in faith against the enemy. We cannot be fearful and start speaking doubt and unbelief. We cannot allow the enemy to scare us into submitting to something the Lord does not want us to do. We cannot and will not allow the devil and his followers to manipulate and control us. Instead, we must be ready to swing the Sword of the Spirit and cut his attack off at the very start.

God has promised victory, but we must do our part. I strongly encourage you to get in the Word and focus on Scriptures like Psalm 91 and other passages that promise protection and victory. And start speaking them now- before the attack is evident. We will win if we are armed and ready with the Word of God.
