Feel Good About Yourself- Part 2

We need to see ourselves the wayGod sees us. If you don’t know how God sees you, look in His Word, because His Word is His message, His will, and His very heart. God and His Word are One. If you see something written in the Bible about you, then that is God’s opinion of you.

When we get into the Word, we will begin to see changes in ourselves and our lives. Rather than seeing ourselves as rejected or unloved, we will see ourselves as accepted in Christ and treasured (Ephesians 1:16). We will see ourselves as truly loved of the Father (Jeremiah 31:3). We will see our lives as turning around rather than going down the drain (Romans 8:28). We will see favor coming our way (Proverbs 3:4) and blessings being poured out on us (Malachi 3:10). When we get in the Bible, our thinking is transformed and we see ourselves and others the way God does. And the way you see yourself has everything to do with how you act and live your life.

Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. Romans 12:2 (Easy To Read Version, ERV)

For as he thinks within himself, so he is. Proverbs 23:7a (New American Standard Bible, NASB)

The way you think about yourself affects how you carry yourself in relationships, in your job or school, in every area of life. We must have an accurate self-image to live the kind of life God has for us. Staying in the Word, renewing our minds to the truth of how God sees us, will cause us to be transformed and we will become outwardly who God has already made us to be inside.

We can overcome failure, pain, disappointment, lack of education, and more when we see ourselves through the lens of God’s Word. Seeing is being, so allow the Bible to show you your true identity in Christ.
