The Appointment That Changes Things

In the silence, in the quiet place, is where we hear God speaking to us. God is always trying to speak to us, but we aren’t always listening. God is not mute. He can and will speak if we take the time to listen.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. Psalm 91:1 (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC)

Come away to the secret place and hear the Lord speak. it brings stability and rest. It affords us protection from the enemy. When we get alone with God and commune with Him, we are strengthened and encouraged. We receive insights and wisdom we would not have on our own.

Time with God is the difference maker. It is one of the things that distriguish the mature in Christ from the shallow. It is evident in the bearing and demeanor of a person in times of trouble and testing. Those who spend regular time with God will not crumble under pressure. They are steady and their eyes are fixed on the Lord, not their problems.

When we spend time in the secret place, God’s presence comes and ministers to us. Then, as we leave, we carry His presence with us to affect others. The manifest presence of God, the anointing, accompanies us. It empowers us and enables us to great exploits for God.

And such as violate the covenant he shall pervert and seduce with flatteries, but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God]. Daniel 11:32 (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC) emphasis mine

Do you want to be a mover and a shaker for Jesus Christ? Do you want to turn the world upside-down for Him? It starts in the secret place. Only in His presence are we changed and equipped for our assignment. There is limited success for the child of God who does not spend time with Him.

Find a place in your home where you can be alone with God. Set a regular time each day- make an appointment with God. And keep that appointment. You will notice the change in yourself and in your life.
