Only God Events
Today is September 11, 2026, and marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks on our nation.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version, NIV)
If we remove the 2, we can see 9:11 in this verse. Before any 9-11 event took place (or others that have and will try to do such evil acts), God already had our backs.
Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Isaiah 58:8 (Amplified Bible Classic edition, AMPC)
God is our rear guard. In other words, God not only goes before us and walks with us, but He also has our backs. God watches over us. His eyes are upon us to keep us safe. The enemy’s plans are to steal kill, and destroy (John 10:10). He wants to steal our prosperity, harm or kill us, and leave us with no hope, thus destroying our future. However, for every single 9-11 event, every event meant for our harm, God has Jeremiah 29:11.
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). John 10:10 (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC)
Jeremiah 29:11 ties directly to John 10:10. Jeremiah is speaking of abundant life, not destruction from the enemy. God’s will for us is good. Instead of harm, God has good things for us. His desire is for His abundance to overflow and touch every area of our lives. We can hide under His wings and receive His divine protection (Psalm 91:1-4). His protection makes us untouchable.
Knowing that God has only good plans for us, let us decree today (and everyday): “There will be no 9-11 type events, only God events.” Say it over and over throughout the day. I say this everyday. We will not fear what man can do to us because the Lord is on our side. He is with us and by our side at all times, so let’s tap into that to enforce the protection of God over ourselves and our nation.
God turns curses into blessings, fear into faith, and defeat into victory. There will be no 9-11 type events, only God events. Know that God has plans to prosper you and me, not to harm us. His plan is to give us a hope and a future. That is His will, both today and always.
