Things Will Move!
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Zechariah 4:6-7 (KJV)
What should we do when we face difficulties living for God, doing His work, or doing whatever He called us to do in whatever field He has placed us?
First, we must get a word from the Lord. This will enable us to know what, why, where, when, and how to do it, as well as who to do it with. These Old Testament verses above apply to New Testament believers as well, for all Scripture profits us and is God-breathed by Holy Spirit (II Timothy 3:15-16).
What we accomplish must not come by might, meaning by a natural army, because humans are limited, but God is not. It is not by power or strength because some things are just too big for man. However, it is by His Spirit. Holy Spirit is unlimited in Who He is and what He can do. His strength and power know no bounds. Even when man can’t, God can.
When Zechariah spoke of a mountain, it was a picture of whatever stands in the way, looks too big for us, or seems immovable. It symbolizes that which would stop our work, halt our progress, or decrease our momentum. God says it will be a plain, meaning that what once stood in our way will be levelled to the ground by God. God shall bring forth the Headstone. This is the beginning, a foundation that is ultimately Jesus Christ, the Chief Cornerstone (Psalm 118:22); a sure and firm foundation. We must build on Christ so it will be done right and it will last.
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, I Peter 2:6-7 (KJV)
Therefore, as we speak, “Grace, grace,” to the mountain, it will move. Jesus says we are to speak to the mountain and it will move (Mark 11:23). Lift up your voice, shout, and cry out. Use and release your authority in Christ, based on God’s Word and backed by the Holy Spirit. Things will move. Things will get done.
That which you couldn’t do in the natural, let God empower you by His Word and Spirit to:
Do the impossible,
Reach the unachievable,
Think the unthinkable,
Receive the unobtainable
By God’s Word, Spirit, and grace, all things truly are possible. For whatever we face, God gives victory. That which we start with God, we will finish with God, for Jesus does all things well. So, speak to your mountain. Prophesy, “Mountain, be removed by the Spirit of the Lord, in Jesus’ name!”
