No Fear of Death

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:14-21 (KJV)

Adam’s sin introduced death into the world. Sin and death reigned over mankind, but Christ and His grace brought us righteousness and freedom over sin and death. By Adam’s sin, people were made sinners, but by Christ we are made righteous. Jesus conquered sin and death for all of us, so when we receive Him, we are redeemed from Adam’s sin that had been passed onto us all.

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Hebrews 2:14-15 (KJV)

Jesus destroyed death and rendered powerless him that had the power of death: the devil. Jesus now has the keys to death and hell (Revelation 1:8). Jesus delivered mankind who had been in bondage to death their entire lifetime. Jesus took the keys of authority away from the devil and delivered us from the fear of death. We are no longer subject to bondage.

The greatest fear is the fear of death, but we’ve been delivered from that. Now, instead of fear of dying, we have faith for living. The just, the righteous, shall live by faith. We can laugh at the fear of death and what death brings: worry, stress, fear, sickness, loss, defeat, torment, and doubt.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2 (KJV)

Sin brought death, and Jesus defeated both sin and death. He gave us freedom and life forever. Jesus, who is Life, rose triumphant, giving us victory over sin and death here and now. If we die, we now go from Earth to Heaven. It is just a relocation.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. I Corinthians 15:54-58 (KJV) emphasis mine
