Communication, Connection, Closure

Communication, Connection, Closure

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Ephesians 4:14 (KJV)

Speaking the truth in love is where we communicate with each other in an attitude of love rather than hostility. There must be honesty and truthfulness but communicated in love. It is to help and not hurt, to restore and not to keep things unresolved.

As we communicate the truth in love, we grow up in Christ in all things. True communication in love will help us to connect with each other in a true, sincere, caring relationship. Such a relationship builds trust and allows us to be open with each other and share what is on our minds. It allows us to release hurts, disappointments, bad feelings and memories, and get past the wrongs that have been done. We overcome evil with good to enjoy a relationship and then to make it even better. The more we communicate in love, the more we can connect with each other to build a strong relationship.

Christ is our Head, and we are to put Him in charge of the restored relationship. Then, when it is time to move on, we can experience closure. When God leads us to move on, we can leave with no bad feelings between us. Closure can bring healing and restoration, giving us good things to build on as we move on. When we come to the end of one season, we must leave where we are in a good way to be able to walk into the new season God has for us. Whether we are saying goodbye to a friend, employer, church, neighbor, or anyone, we must leave in love. When we communicate in love, create a good connection, and leave with proper closure, we are handling relationships correctly. We can take the lessons learned for our maturity and we head into the new place God has for us. We’ll become better people because of relationships handled rightly.
