This Land Is His Land
There used to be a folk song called This Land is Our Land, speaking of the United States. However, this land belongs to God before it belongs to us. He created it and owns it. Yet, in His love and grace, He has given this nation to us to steward. It began with God-fearing men and women and that is how we must keep it. It is only by the grace of God that we have not self-destructed. And it is only by the hand of God that it will be turned around.
As the church, we laid down on the job. We did not enforce the godly foundations of our nation, and we have paid a heavy price for it. Nowhere in the Bible does God say that believers are to stay out of government, and no where in our Constitution does it say that either. Quite the opposite is true. We’ve believed a lie, and as a result, we allowed wicked people to rule over us.
When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan. Proverbs 29:2 (New Living Translation, NLT)
Because a remnant of true believers have cried out to God, He is moving to turn the tables on the enemy. It is only by His mighty hand that we can expect things to be made right. He is returning our nation to us. This time, we must not make the same mistakes we made before. We cannot become complacent, but we must take authority and rule in every realm of society. An election cannot save the United States and the nations of the world. It will take an act of God. And He will do it for us. Even now He is working, often in ways we cannot see, to deliver us from all bondage.
While an election can’t save us, we must take action to partner with God is this great reawakening of our nation. We are to vote in every election. That is the main way we steward the great nation that God has given us. Voting is the way to make your voice heard. When we don’t vote, we are allowing other people, usually ungodly ones, to call the shots. God is being faithful to deliver our nation, and we should be faithful to Him by voting for people who stand on godly principles.
The midterm election is fast approaching. Determine in your heart that you will get off of your sofa and go vote. Do some research so you know the platform of each candidate and understand each law on the ballot. Stand up for Chrisitan values and watch God take what we give Him and make much of it, like He did the loaves and fish. Deliverance is at hand, so do your part to partner with the Lord. God bless the Untied States of America!
