Seeing To See
When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing. John 9:6-7 (KJV)
There are some interesting truths about this account that I want to point out. When God made Adam, He made him from the ground. Jesus took clay from the ground and anointed, or smeared, the clay on the eyes of the blind man. I believe this signifies that this was a recreative miracle. Jesus told him to go and wash. This was an act of faith for this man since he was blind and could not see. However, he saw in his heart what Jesus told him to do, did it, and came back seeing.
He first saw spiritually, then physically. We must see with our spiritual eyes and hear with our spiritual ears what Jesus is telling us to do. While it may not make sense to our natural minds, we must trust Jesus and act on His Word. When we do, miracles can happen.
God will tell us to do something, but we just can’t understand how things will work out. Just believe God and leave the results up to Him, and you’ll see what God can do for you.
Jesus told him to wash in the water. We must wash in the water of God’s Word and be clean. When we wash in the river of the Holy Spirit, we receive life and all that we need. You don’t need to see how it will work out. Just do what Jesus tells you to do, and then you’ll see things work out. See it spiritually to see it physically.
