Separated Lives

Separated Lives

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: I Corinthians 1:30 (KJV) emphasis mine

Christ is our sanctification. sanctification in the Greek is hagiamos, meaning separate to God, to make holy or consecrate, set apart from sin and the world. it speaks of being pure, clean, and holy, separated from sin and the things of the world.

God has set us apart from all that defiles and has set us apart to Himself. God is holy, pure, and separate. We, too, must be holy, pure, and separate from all that tries to make us unclean. Through Christ, we have been set apart from sin, and we are made righteous. We have God’s nature and power to live right. we are in the world but we are not of the world. We are born-again so we are of God now.

We don’t have to partake of all that’s in the world or live according to the world’s system and ways of doing things. For example, we don’t have to participate in the world’s bad economy. We operate in God’s kingdom economy where there is blessing and never any lack. We live by kingdom ways; God’s ways of doing things.

The world hates, but Christians are to love. In the world there is tribulation, pressure, stress, and anxiety. As we live separated lives, we don’t have to experience these things, because Christ is our peace, victory, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. We’re not under the curse, but under the blessing of the Lord. God’s system brings life, health, prosperity, victory, joy, fulfillment, and all the blessings He has promised. The world system brings the results of the curse: death, sickness, lack, defeat, misery, and dissatisfaction.

As we live separate from the world, we can walk in who Christ is and who we are in Christ. We can have all that Christ provided for us at the cross. As we stay attached to Jesus and detached from the world, it won’t influence or control us.

We’re set apart unto God. We live separate from what is in the world. We partake of God and don’t participate in sin. We love God, and try to win others to Jesus, but we don’t become like the world to try to win them. As we live in God and for God, we will live the way God intended… and the world will take notice.
