Who His Own Self

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. I Peter 2:24 (KJV) emphasis mine

Jesus Himself bore our sins, or as the King James Version says, His own self. Jesus in His own body, died on the tree. This points out that no one but Jesus took our sins upon his very own body and provided our healing through the stripes He personally received.

Jesus was mankind’s substitute. In the great exchange, He took our sins and gave us His righteousness. He took our pains and sickness and have us His healing and wholeness.

Jesus alone died for us. Jesus alone gave Himself for us. Jesus alone can save us. Jesus alone can heal us. Himself speaks of the fact that He alone could do this and He alone did it.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 (KJV)

Only Jesus can save. Only Jesus can heal. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you. Jesus, our great Provider, provided all we ever need in Himself at the cross. All we have to do is believe it and receive it.
