A Supernatural Walk

But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. Matthew 14:24-33 (KJV)

As believers, we are people of the Spirit, not of the natural. The world has no hold or claim on us. As we walk in the Spirit, walking and acting on God’s Word, we can walk upon the natural waves that would try to drown us. When we walk in our authority based on God’s Word, we’re above the natural realm. We walk on God’s Word- it supports us. Supernatural means to be above the natural. We’re above the natural things that would try to defeat us.

As we keep our eyes on Jesus and refuse to be distracted by natural winds and waves, the forces of this world cannot bring us down. As we walk by faith, we walk on top of the fear that would try to bring us down.

Step out of the boat, your comfort zone, your safe place. It’s safer with Jesus on the waves than it is in the boat. Why? Because no matter what happens, Jesus has got us. Even if we fall, even if we fail, it’s not final because Jesus always has the final word. His Word is “Come.” When He speaks, one word is so powerful it can hold us up and keep us from sinking.

So come. Come walk with Jesus. Hold His hand and walk with Him above the natural to live a truly supernatural life.
