Restored Fortunes

On that day I will gather you together and bring you home again. I will give you a good name, a name of distinction, among all the nations of the earth, as I restore your fortunes before their very eyes. I, the Lord, have spoken!” Zephaniah 3:20 (New Living Translation, NLT) emphasis mine

This tells us that God has a day planned for our restoration, when that which has been stolen will be given back to us. I believe we can expect to receive what has been taken from us as well as what has been taken from our ancestors.

And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians. Exodus 12:35-36 (KJV)

Our fortunes will be restored. Our captivity will be turned around and we will go free. We will go free, but also loaded down with the wealth of the world. It will be like the time Israel left Egypt and took with them their back pay from their years of slavery: the wealth of Egypt. They were recompensed, or paid back, for for all that had been stolen from them and their forefathers before them while they were enslaved by Egypt.

He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Psalm 105:37 (KJV)

There’s a day coming soon in which God will make the Pharaohs of this world and their ungodly system pay us back. We will come out of their captivity and our fortunes will be restored. We’ll be paid back for all our years of slavery and more. God said in Zephaniah that He would do this in front of the eyes of the world. Our restoration will be a very public thing.

the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. Proverbs 13:22 (NKJV)

Rejoice! Pay day is coming and coming quickly!
