Address Stress- Part 1

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33 (KJV)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 (KJV)

Jesus has come to give us peace and rest. In the world, you will have tribulation, or pressure that causes stress. Jesus came to give us rest, not stress. Stress is a stealer and a killer, so we know it comes from the thief, satan. Stress steals health, happiness, finances, and relationships. It can cause you not to think right and keeps emotions stirred up. Stress distracts and weakens your will when it steals your focus to choose God’s will. God gave me a clever acrostic for STRESS: Satan’s Tool Regarding Emotions Simmering and Stirred up.

We are to deal with stress, care, worry, and anxiety through prayer, giving them to God. Jesus literally carried our stresses on His own body, nailing them to the cross, so we never have to carry them ourselves. The devil stresses us in order to steal, kill, and destroy- to make us miserable, to make us ill, to age us quicker, to kill us. He works to make us ineffective in life and works to take us out.

But, Jesus came to give us life, and life more abundantly. God’s antidote, cure, answer and solution to stress is found in another acrostic. STRESS: Salvation Transferring Rest and Ease to Silence Satan. Jesus as our savior, saves us from satans’s tool of stress, bringing rest and peace that produces wholeness, calmness, a holy ease. He takes us from stressing to resting. He causes us to rest in the blessings of life, joy, peace, wisdom, strength, health, and prosperity. We have victory through His Word, Spirit, and blood!

Through God’s salvation we have victory over satan, the world and all the stress that attacks us. As we praise God, this silences satan and his stresses no longer affect us for our focus is on God. We know as we praise, pray, and proclaim God’s Word, God is empowering us to overcome and be victorious through every situation. When we address stress this way, we don’t stress, but we rest in God, knowing He is with us and for us. We’re too blessed to be stressed because we’re in God’s blessed rest.

For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world….There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Hebrews 4:3,9 (KJV)
